TownsTech Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Effective Date: June 2026

Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy defines activities that are prohibited on TownsTech infrastructure, networks, systems, websites, hosting environments, and services.

Prohibited Activities

Illegal Activities

Customers may not use TownsTech services to:

  • Violate Zimbabwean or international law
  • Commit fraud
  • Facilitate criminal activity
  • Distribute illegal content

Intellectual Property Violations

Customers may not:

  • Use pirated software
  • Host copyrighted materials without authorization
  • Distribute stolen digital assets
  • Use nulled plugins, themes, or scripts

Security Violations

The following activities are prohibited:

  • Malware distribution
  • Phishing
  • Identity theft
  • Unauthorized network scanning
  • Brute force attacks
  • Hacking attempts
  • Credential harvesting
  • Botnet operations

Email Abuse

Customers may not:

  • Send unsolicited bulk email
  • Operate mailing lists without consent
  • Conduct phishing campaigns
  • Send deceptive marketing messages

Resource Abuse

Customers may not:

  • Consume excessive server resources
  • Operate cryptocurrency mining services without authorization
  • Run applications that destabilize shared hosting environments

Harmful Content

The following content is prohibited:

  • Child exploitation material
  • Terrorist content
  • Malware
  • Fraudulent schemes
  • Content intended to harm others

Monitoring

TownsTech reserves the right to investigate reports of abuse and monitor system activity necessary to protect infrastructure and customers.

Enforcement

Violations may result in:

  • Content removal
  • Account suspension
  • Service termination
  • Reporting to relevant authorities

The severity of action will depend on the nature of the violation.
